About Your Captain
"Captain Dave Ribeca has been backcountry
flats fishing the waters of Pine Island Sound since 1983. He acquired his U.S.C.G. captain's license "sea
time" flats fishing and blue water fishing this area with Captain Ron Rebeck of
Florida Backcountry Charters (founder of "Pole Mate" push pole holders), now
fishing out of Indian River, Florida. Prior to opening his business at Tarpon Point
Marina in Cape Coral,
Florida, Captain Dave owned and operated Sea Level Fishing Charters on Lake
Michigan, docked at Pastrick Marina, in East Chicago, Indiana. There he ran a
Gulf Stream Grady White and fished for Salmonids, Lake Trout, Brown Trout and Steelhead. His
university undergraduate B.S. degree studies in Geosciences and graduate M.S.
degree studies in
Environmental Science is a good indicator of his love and understanding of
fishing and the marine outdoor environment. He is a wildlife scholar and has the
qualifications to back it up. Dave
brings to his clients a unique combination of excellent fishing skills and a
complete and comprehensive knowledge of the various outdoor fishing environments.
Whether it's saltwater game fish or land-locked Salmonids Dave's ability to read
weather, water, and fish behavior, will always put fish in his boat. He is an avid saltwater flats
Fisher and Naturalist. I know this to be true because I've fished him."
